ROTEX® – couplings are designed to transmit torque between drive and driven components via curved jaw hubs and elastomeric elements, commonly known as spiders. The combination of these components provides dampening and accommodation for misalignments. This product is available in a variety of mounting configurations to meet your specific needs.

KTR ROTEX® couplings are UL Listed and meet the requirements of NFPA 20 - Standard for Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection, and by completing the required endurance testing of UL 448A, flexible couplings and connecting shafts for stationary fire pumps.

KTR ROTEX couplings are not specifically FM approved, but, they conform to FM Global Property loss prevention Data Sheet 3.7, Section 2.4.4.3 (revision October 2021) which states "Connect the fire pump and driver with a rigid coupling, flexible coupling, or flexible connecting shaft.  Do not use all elastomeric couplings...."

Please click here to inquire about a jockey pump.

eFirePump.com offers an extensive local inventory of the DP brand of vertical multistage jockey pumps. These pumps are comparable in design and performance to Grundfos, Goulds/G&L Lowara, Pentair Aurora, and other similar brands. They also have the same face-to-face dimensions and generally have similar horespowers.

Jockey pumps, or pressure maintenece pumps, are installed in a fire pump system to maintain system pressure due to minor pressure losses in non-fire conditions.

A rule of thumb is to size the jockey pump at 1% of the fire rated flow at a pressure equal to the fire pump churn pressure. For installations with a large amount of underground you may want to consider selecting a larger flow which allows for potential underground leakage.

Most of these pumps are in stock, and typically ship within 3-5 days.
